Isabella Birdie Barrera

Isabella Barrera heard the saying "jack of all trades, master of none" and has made it her mission to popularize the ending, "but geez it sure is fun!".

Studying and working in a wide variety of mediums Isabella Barrera produces various types of media, from small zines and comics to larger installation work. Conceptually what links her work is an interest in an optimistic form of existentialism and escapism. As escapist media becomes more prominent within popular media such as video games and VR, she believes fiction will save the world one day. She specifically draws inspiration from high fantasy, sword and sorcery works while exploring both traditional and modern art techniques. Perhaps in another life she would be exploring the high was or the stars above, for now, she is content exploring worlds written and drawn by artists today, forever awestruck by our ability to make something completely new, and the many different creative processes.
